Matthew Herzberg
Host, Producer, Consultant
I've spent my whole life around myopia management. I grew up in my parents' pioneering ortho-K practice — answering phones, capturing topographies, working with families — and I learned early what exceptional, specialized care looks like and the mindset it takes to deliver it.
For 18 years I served as Executive Director of the AAOMC, running booths, connecting with eye care professionals around the world, and creating Vision by Design — the meeting that came to be called "the Super Bowl of Myopia Management." I've also worked inside Johnson & Johnson's myopia division, gaining hands-on experience in ortho-K, sales, consulting, and ECP support.
That's 20+ years watching, up close, what separates the practices that thrive in this specialty from the ones that struggle. Today I share those lessons two ways: through The Myopia Mindset podcast and Substack, and by consulting directly with ECPs who want to build a myopia management practice they're proud of.
I'm not an optometrist — and that's the point. My expertise is everything around the clinical work: the mindset, the systems, the team, the patient experience, and the passion that makes it all click. If that resonates, let's talk.
